KUYILI

This candle is an ode to Army Commander Kuyili, the valiant army commander of Queen Velu Nachiyar of Sivaganga, in the 18th century, known as India’s first woman martyr. She set herself ablaze and jumped into the British armory, causing a massive explosion that secured victory against the East India Company. Her sacrifice is a blazing symbol of courage and patriotism.

Candle Care

• First burn: Allow wax to melt edge-to-edge to prevent tunneling (typically 1-2 hours)
• Trim wick to ¼ inch (5mm) before each use
• Maximum burn time: 2-3 hours at a time & allow 2 hours cooling time before relighting
• Never allow children or pets near burning candles
• Never leave a burning candle unattended and extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep
• Never burn on uneven surfaces and maintain room temperature between 16-21°C (60-70°F)
